Strategic Council
The Strategic Council aims to bring together the various points of view of people with relevant experience in the association’s fields of activity, namely those who are part of academia, the business world, national and international organizations, and public entities.
The Strategic Council is responsible for advising Management via opinions on issues that are submitted to it. It partakes in the definition of the association’s strategy, creating working groups, and conveying information on legal, economic and technological matters. It informs Management about new trends and practices developed in the field of sustainable production and consumption and the circular economy, as well as ensuring a permanent update on all areas of intervention of BasN.
President: Professor Paulo Ferrão, Full Professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon.
Sustainability Senate
The Sustainability Senate comprises personalities who have exercised institutional responsibilities related to the objectives pursued by the Association, namely political and/or governmental functions in the field of the environment and natural resources, at national or international level. This Senate possesses the right to participate in the reflection on public policies and on projects of the Association, and to contribute to the dissemination of the activities of the Association. This allows for the appearance and adoption of a supra-partisan point of view by the Senate.
Women Ambassadors
Women ambassadors are women, appointed by Management, who live and/or work abroad, thus being able to represent the Association in several countries (this group can also include women public figures and women working in the media). It is their job to represent and promote the Association’s activities on the international stage, to contribute to Association initiatives, and to support the establishment of partnerships between the Association and similar organizations (and private or public entities) abroad.
