Theo Fernandes
Coordinator
With more than 20 years of professional experience centered in the field of Information Systems applied to the Environment and Sustainability sector. During his professional career, Theo put together several complementary ideas (and varying points of view) on the subjects of Environment, sustainable living, and Information Systems. He worked in innovation companies such as Chiron or YDreams, where he registered a patent related to the access to information based on time, space, and relevance.
Theo has also worked in the sphere of public administration, either as a coordinator at ERSAR or at the Ministry of the Environment. In 2008, he founded Chimp, a startup oriented towards innovation and information systems in the field of Environment and Sustainability, having developed projects (at the national level) in the waste, water resources, public participation, and gamification sectors.
He has been a Guest Assistant since 2003 at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, having taught subjects related to water management, hydraulics, and water resources with Professor António Carmona Rodrigues and, in recent years, also on environment-related entrepreneurship, with Professor António Câmara and Professor Júli Seixas.
